Coming Home!

Posted: June 29, 2009 at 10:59 am

We just arrived in Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. Sunday as we prepare for our trip home tomorrow. God has done amazing things through our team and blessed us with a tremendous service this morning. We have been blessed to be on this trip and we are all looking forward to coming home and sharing our amazing stories with our friends and family. Blake, we miss you and can’t wait to show you the videos of how lives were touched through your prayers for this trip. ~ Pastor Danny

Guyana Team Update

Posted: June 26, 2009 at 12:47 pm

The team is doing great. Ashley Short preached at one of the meetings and the team performed a skit in the village of Mambura. Today they were in the community of Great Falls, fishing and swimming in the morning and in the afternoon praying for sick people as they went back down the river. They have been inviting people to the saturday afternoon bar-b-que. They are loving the kids and people. The ladies will be making a trip to Georgetown with the pastor’s wife to prepare for a makeover time for the village ladies. Post by Ps. Danny

From Mile 58!

The last few days have had many adventures and we are so blessed with many opportunities to share.  On Monday the team went to a local school, handing out supplies and while there taught the local children American football.  The team has spent time out in the community sharing Christ.  Pastor Danny & Tyler were able to pray with a man struggling with alcholism, which is common in men in Guyana.  On Tuesday morning, Jimmy helped cook an American breakfast of French Toast, along with the cooks at the restaurant.  The locals enjoyed the sweet taste of this special breakfast!  After breakfast, the team went to the church for a long day of painting.  For lunch, chef Carman prepared “Labba” (a type of nutria, which is a delacacy in Guyana).  The team thoroughly enjoyed the taste – honest!  Last night they had a packed out service of over 100 people.  Ian preached on David and Goliath, the team performed their skit and Charles shared a testamony.  ~

Sunday evening update

Last night (Sunday) the team got to minister at the local church again.  We were able to help lead the church in worship, do some of our skits, then Kristine gave her testimony.  After we were done, we spent some time praying with the people from the church.  It was an incredible evening! The local pastor asked us if we would be willing to help paint the church. The team was excited to help and readily agreed.  We will begin that project later this week.  Today we are going to stay local and minister to the people in the community.  On Saturday, we are going to help host a BBQ.   We will be inviting people to join us all week.  Everyone is doing great and anticipating the awesome things that God is going to do while we are here! ~Pastor Danny

Mile 58 Report

Posted: June 21, 2009 at 7:32 pm

After a couple of flights and an adventurous 5 hour ride through the pitch black rainforest at night, the team arrived at their destintation – Mile 58.  The team got a couple hours of sleep before waking up and attending the local church service.  Pastor Danny preached, Ian shared his testimony, and the group closed with one of their skits.  After the service, the church celebrated and honored all of the fathers in honor of Father’s Day.  Monday, the team will be doing some local door to door evangelism.  Tuesday and Wednesday the team will travel to some villages further away to share Jesus with more people. Everyone is doing well and excited about what is to come.  We miss and send our love to Blake, hoping he is recovering quickly!  Happy Father’s Day to all of our Dads! ~ Pastor Danny
