Join us as we reach young people through sports in Cuba!
Pastor Sam will lead the team on this 7 day trip to Cuba. We will be working with host LA Liga Evangelica, who will coordinate team activities and outreach gatherings.
Daily Activities: The team will organize and lead various sporting events during 5 full days of outreach, such as baseball and soccer games, using the opportunities created to share the Gospel. All subject to change due to weather and government restrictions. Flexible attitude is recommended.
Team Members: Team is open to Adults (ages 18+) in good athletic condition, ready to jump in and play sports daily. Team members must be able to endure hot conditions. Some teaching opportunities, must be willing to share testimony in group setting. Spanish speaking is a plus. All applications subject to team leader approval.
Passport Required: A passport 6 months after travel date is required for this trip. If your passport expiration is prior to travel date, please contact the Global Reach Department for instructions before applying for this trip.

Weather: Temperatures can range between upper 60's to low 80's daily. You will be provided with a complete packing list by your team leader.
Religion in Cuba: Here's some history on religious freedoms - or lack of - in Cuba. A local church leader said "There is freedom of worship now, yes, but that’s not the same as freedom of religion.”
Indeed, no other country in the Americas is so restrictive. The Cuban government doesn’t allow the church to run its own schools, or broadcast on television or the radio. Public acts of worship or proselytising are proscribed. About 27% of Cubans identified as Catholic in a poll of 1,200 adults commissioned by the Univision network earlier this year. Personal expenses, optional for-fee activities, airport meals and snacks, fees to obtain passport, or vaccinations are NOT included in the trip cost.

What is covered by the trip fee? International round trip airfare to/from New Orleans/Cuba; housing, meals, ground transportation at destination. Your trip fee includes the required entry visa, but does not cover expenses to obtain a passport or any vaccinations.
We recommend bringing additional money for airport meals/snacks, any additional drinks or food you might want during the trip and other personal items you might want to buy. Your team leader can answer any specific questions regarding this.
